ABOUT IEM
Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), Kolkata is one of the top-ranked Engineering Colleges established in the year 1989. IEM Kolkata ranked 7th in Category of Eminence, 2nd in the State of West Bengal, and 2nd in Eastern & Central Region by GHRDC BBA College survey 2024. The institute also won the title “Jewel of the East” by Telegraph. IEM is the 3rd Best Engineering college in West Bengal after IIT Kharagpur and NIT Jadavpur and is also ranked at 79th position among the best private engineering colleges in India. IEM Kolkata is affiliated to the University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Engineering and Management Institute is also accredited by NAAC grade A with a score of 3.25.
IEM Kolkata offers undergraduate courses like B.Tech, BBA, BCA and Post-graduate courses like M.Tech, MBA and MCA. Admission to IEM Kolkata is based on marks secured in IEMCET. However, the WBJEE score is also considered for B.Tech Admission. Candidates having a valid CAT and MAT score are eligible to apply for an MBA at IEM Kolkata. The 1st year fee for MBA at IEM Kolkata is INR 320,000 and for B.Tech the fee is INR 181,200. Candidates who have appeared for WBJECA are also eligible for admission into the MCA course at the Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata.
IEM Kolkata has a 100% placement record for engineering and management students over the past years. Candidates graduating from the institute are placed in top-notch companies such as Amazon, Capgemini, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, etc. As per the NIRF 2024 report, the median CTC offered was INR 4.8 LPA and INR 15 LPA to UG and PG students respectively.

Secured, spacious and separate Hostel facilities are available for girls and boys within the campus. Accommodation is available for more that 200 boys and 150 girls on twin sharing basis. Trained personnel are present in the hostels to provide a sense of security in the hostels. In additions, trained and experienced wardens take care of immates. Here you will find a truly vibrant mix of people from all over the country.
Boys Hostel-
The hostels are equipped with round-the-clock security systems. Institute of Engineering and Management Kolkata provides comfortable accommodation and all necessities of day-to-day use. IEM Kolkata boys hostel facilities also include a well-hygiene cafeteria, where vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are served.
Girls Hostel-
The institute provides hostels that are comfortable for the accommodation of the outstation students.
